This is a bush vine - it's neat looking isn't it? This was the traditional way to plant and grow grapes in Spain. It is a dying art as many nouveau winemakers are arriving and planting trellised vines. Telmo Rodriguez is on a mission to keep the bush vine. And grown Biodynamically nonetheless! Thank God, because it makes some very delicious, well balanced, hearty, rich, spicy, smoky, character driven wines. Of course each region imparts its place on the wine, but overall the wine has longevity and interest.
The Ribera del Duero "Gazur" is 100% tempranillo raised in stainless steel. Dark ruby color with a nose full of spices, earth, espresso, black cherry and raspberry. The palate is structured, complex, rich with flavor of cherries and espresso and just that tiny hint of earth that Ribera brings to a wine. It would be perfect for all of your grilling needs - including bbq.
The thing we like too is how conscientious it is - to the region, the growers and the earth.
