As Antonella says about the wine, "it's 100% Croatina. While not aged in barrel, it can age in bottle for two or three years. It's ruby-colored with red fruit nose and palate, very frank and satisfying." And we will concur, especially with the very frank part.
The wine is direct, forthright and honest (and satisfying!). I know that sounds like a load of BS, but really, it's got so much concentration and depth for a young, inexpensive wine. It has some tannin too with that concentration and tart, but dried, cherry fruit - this wine is not a velvety quaffer. It opens over the meal (or decant ahead of time) and the last sip is only reminiscent of the first.
