This is the story of four friends who traveled to Venice, Italy together with the intent to get to know the city like an old friend. We rented an apartment for a week so we could cook, yell out the window in Italian and make dramatic hand gestures, spy on the neighbors, get lost in the winding streets, go to the opera, celebrate a birthday, meet the Rialto’s fisherman and most importantly become intimate with the elusive enoteca.
This trip was, in fact, a great effort to experience and remember the city’s enotecas so that we could come home and share what we love so much about Venice—intimate places to gather, eat cicchetti, drink and buy wine all in the same location.
But really? Really? Were we going to do this?
And so one dreary, magical and choppy night on a vaporetto in Venice—we committed to opening Central Bottle and we are proud to bring you our labor of fantastic, fun and delicious love.
